The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.
August 11
Pedro M. Prazeres, 59, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on an August 1 charge in Oak Bluffs, of threatening to commit a crime (murder). Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 20.
August 14
Radoi Radu-George 24, who the court lists as homeless, was arraigned on an August 13 charge in Edgartown of vandalizing property. Defendant released on personal recognizance and with further condition to stay away from address of alleged incident and have no contact with alleged victim/s and undergo a mental health evaluation and any treatment as recommended. Pretrial hearing held August 28 and discovery compliance jury election (DCE) scheduled for Sept. 28.
August 17
Brianda Garcia, 29, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on August 17 charges in Oak Bluffs of resisting arrest and assault and battery. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 6.
August 18
James W. Hart, 27, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on August 18 charges in Oak Bluffs of a subsequent offense of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing held Sept. 7. Defendant entered guilty plea to charge of a subsequent offense of disorderly conduct and agreed to prosecutor’s recommendation of one year of probation, to be alcohol free with random testing, and to pay $50 to the victim’s and widows assessment. Charge of resisting arrest dismissed upon request of the Commonwealth. Probation scheduled to terminate Sept. 6, 2024.
August 21
David P. Rodgers, 39, of Worcester, was arraigned on five August 19 charges in Oak Bluffs of vandalizing property and a charge of disorderly conduct. Defendant entered pleas of not guilty. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 11 and discovery compliance jury election (DCE) scheduled for Oct. 6.
David P. Rodgers, 39, of Worcester was arraigned on August 19 charges in Vineyard Haven of breaking and entering for the purpose of committing a misdemeanor and larceny valued under $1,200. Defendant entered pleas of not guilty. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 11 and discovery compliance jury election (DCE) scheduled for Oct. 6.
David P. Rodgers, 39, of Worcester, was arraigned on August 19 charges in Vineyard Haven of two charges of disorderly conduct, two charges of vandalizing property and a charge of littering trash. August 24 Bryan A. Covington, 29, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on an August 23 charge in Oak Bluffs of being a fugitive from justice on a court warrant. Waiver of extradition signed. Defendant being held without bail at the Dukes County Correctional Facility. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 25.
August 25
Wesley H. Dasilva, 25, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on August 25 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop or yield and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 27.
August 28
Asher Anderson, 22, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on an August 9 charge in Oak Bluffs of disorderly conduct. Defendant held without prejudice between time of arrest until arraignment because of not cooperating with booking. Defendant transfered to Bridgewater State Hospital on August 10. Status review hearing held Sept. 5 and defendant released. Case closed.
Christopher M. Buehler, 54, of Chilmark, was arraigned on an August 27 charge of violating an abuse prevention order. Defendant released on personal recognizance and with further condition to abide by active restraining order conditions. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 27.
Anthony M. Diiorio, 37, of Norwood, was arraigned on August 25 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and driving the wrong way on a state highway. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 10.
Jack R. Holmes, 18, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on August 27 charges in Oak Bluffs of failure to stop for police, a moped violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, drunken driving and larceny of a motor vehicle. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 20.
Mayron S. Nascimento, 27, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on August 25 charges in Oak Bluffs of leaving the scene of property damage, drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 27.
Summer Sanderson, 25, of Aquinnah, was arraigned on an August 27 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on a family or household member. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing held Sept. 7. Bench trial scheduled for Nov. 2.
Travis J. Viera, 23, of Edgartown, was arraigned on August 26 charges in Edgartown of two charges of assault and battery on a family or household member, assault and battery and intimidating a witness, juror, police or court official. Defendant released on payment of $150 counsel fee and $400 bail and with further condition to abide by any active restraining order conditions and undergo a substance abuse evaluation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 6.
August 31
Okolo M. Schwinn-Clanton, 52, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Feb. 26 charges in Vineyard Haven of trespassing and breaking and entering for the purpose of committing a misdemeanor. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 19.
Sept. 1
Jesiel Cabral, 47, of Chilmark, was arraigned on August 25 charges in Edgartown of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, drunken driving, a marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 3.
Junio C. Souza, 42, of Edgartown, was arraigned on May 30 charges in Edgartown of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 3.
Sept. 5
Tywane. A. Burse, 43, who the court lists as homeless, was arraigned on a Sept. 3 charge in Oak Bluffs of larceny from a person. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 2.
