The West Tisbury Farmer’s Market returns for its 51st year this upcoming weekend at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury.

A summer staple, the market will host over 40 vendors on Saturday and Wednesday mornings starting June 7.

Perennial favorites such as Morning Glory Farm, Khen’s Little Kitchen and North Tabor Farm will be returning, with new vendors like Good Pierogi joining the event.

Ethan Buchanan-Valenti, manager of the farmers’ market, said he is excited for another season to begin, and that no big changes are planned.

“We lost a couple of farms and got one or two new vendors but that’s the usual for any new year,” he said. “We also have a full roster of music acts but that’s the new normal.”

Mr. Buchanan-Valenti, who is also the farm operations manager at Beetlebung Farm, said he is curious to see what other farms have been growing.

“I love keeping track [of] all the other farms and see who has stuff already,” he said. “I want to see who’s got what already.”

He emphasized that the market accepts Supplemental Nutritional Program (SNAP) and Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards and encourages people to use them if applicable.

“Come use your EBT cards and SNAP benefits at the market because there’s a lot to be had,” he said.

While the market has gone through many iterations throughout the years, including moving to the Ag Hall during the Covid-19 pandemic, the heart of the annual summer event has remained.

“In so many ways, it has stayed the same but it is also nothing like it used to be,” Mr. Buchanan-Valenti said. “I think the soul of the market is still the same as it has been, which is just celebrating the season on the Island.”

The West Tisbury Farmer’s Market runs every Saturday and Wednesday at the Agricultural Hall from 9 a.m. to noon.
