The Island’s Jaws 50th anniversary celebrations start with a splash at the Shark Tank with a special themed game between the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks and the North Shore Navigators on Thursday, June 19.

The Sharks will wear custom “Amity” jerseys, paying tribute to the fictional town from the 1975 blockbuster that was largely filmed on the Vineyard. Their opponents, the North Shore Navigators, will adopt a new identity for the night, taking the field as the Quint Navigators, a nod to the film’s iconic shark hunter.

Sponsored by Vineyard Vines, the game is part of a slate of events honoring the legacy of Jaws.

On the field, the Sharks have shaken off a sluggish 1–5 start, turning the tide with a boost from a swell of late roster additions. They’ve now won three straight and will aim to reach .500 on Wednesday when they host the Ocean State Waves.

First pitch for Jaws Night is scheduled for 6:50 p.m. Thursday at The Tank.
