The women’s rally at Five Corners was well-attended last Saturday. Keep in mind a No Kings 2 rally will be held all over the country, including here, on Friday July 4.

Our annual visitor to the Island, Chris Hulbert and his faithful companion, Chiclet, had a wonderful night off-Island on Saturday. Well, Chiclet actually stayed on-Island with friends while Chris traveled over to the Melody Tent. Chris saw the Beach Boys Tribute band. He said it was wonderful. He came home with a new T-shirt.

Our Lobster Ladies at our American Legion Post 257 are again offering lobster rolls between 4:30 and 7 p.m. Don’t forget to go and enjoy them.

Here is something to get your toes tapping. 60s rock music by the original Dock Dance Band. It will be at Memorial Wharf in Edgartown on Wednesday, July 9th from 6 util 8 p.m.

The now annual Songwriters for Island Elderly Housing held a fabulous concert at the Tabernacle. Some of the writers and performers were Willy Mason, Jemima James, Kit Orlan, Nina Violet and more.

On Wednesday, July 9 at Katharine Cornell Theatre award-winning author, Martha Hall Kelly, will speak. One of her famous books is MV Beach Book Club.

My good friend, Mary McManama, reminds me her birthday fundraiser is for donations to the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard.

How could I have forgotten to alert you last week to Carly Simon’s June 25 birthday? Shame on me.
