Gennaro Esposito, 74, Was Sports Enthusiast

Gennaro Esposito, 74, of Boca Raton, Fla., died on June 15. Born in New York city on July 25, 1931, he proudly served his country during the Korean War. As a young man, Gerry, as he was known, played minor league baseball; he was an avid tennis player and sports enthusiast. He moved to Boca Raton in 1984, joining St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He had a successful career as director of operations with Time and Life Books.

His family and friends will miss his silly jokes; his great sense of humor kept everyone smiling. He was predeceased by his beloved son Gregory in 1993. He was a devoted husband to Dorothy, a native of the Vineyard.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Elena Swinson and son in law Jesse of Lebanon, Pa.; his son, Peter Esposito and daughter in law Karen of Cypress, Calif.; a brother, Frank Esposito of Boynton Beach, Fla., and five grandchildren, Jesse Jr., Gregory, Andrea, Christina and Victoria.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Church on June 22, and prayers followed at the Boca Raton Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Babione Funeral Home in Boca Raton.
