Nicholas Charles Drake Went to Johnson and Wales

Nicholas Charles Drake died unexpectedly Saturday, June 24. He was 22.

He was the son of Jody Edith Drake of Edgartown and Richard T. Lehman, who predeceased him in August 2004.

Nicholas was born on Jan. 8, 1984, at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital. He attended the Edgartown School and was a 2002 graduate of the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. He attended Johnson and Wales University. Most recently he had been employed as a carpenter.

Besides his mother he leaves two half-sisters, Caitlin D. Crossland and Jennifer Lehman, a half-brother, Thomas Lehman, and his stepfather, Alan B. Crossland, all of Edgartown. He is also survived by his aunt, Nancy (Drake) Cooke and his cousins, Lars Elias and Charles and Samuel Cooke, all from San Ramon, Calif. He was the beloved grandson of Winifred T. Drake of Edgartown. His grandfather, Charles R. Drake, preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 15, in the New Westside Cemetery on Robinson Road in Edgartown. The service begins at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by the Rev. Robert Edmunds.
