Helen C. Bechler died July 9 at Pope Nursing Home in Weymouth. She was 94.

Helen previously lived in Oyster Bay, Long Island, N.Y., before she and her husband, Henry, built a home in Chilmark. In later years, Helen resided in Vineyard Haven until 1995.

She predeceased her husband, Henry Bechler.

Survivors include her two nieces, Annette E. Murray and Sue Anne Sullivan, and many great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Abel’s Hill Cemetery in Chilmark on Monday, July 14 at 1 p.m. Pastor Richard M. Rego from Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate.
