Dorothy Daman died April 20 in Martha’s Vineyard after a long illness. She was 74.

Born Nov. 7, 1940, to the late Pearl and Mario Russo, Dorothy was a resident of Westfield, N.J., for over 30 years. She was a vivacious person who loved and lived life to the fullest. She was a past member of the Club of Little Gardens, the Junior Women’s Club and the Westfield Service League. Dorothy was an exceptional hostess known for her Christmas dessert party. She was also a founding member of a Gourmet Group that is still in existence today.

Dorothy traveled extensively and enjoyed golf and tennis as a member of Farm Neck Country Club in Oak Bluffs.

Dorothy was survived by her son Chris Walsweer, his wife Shannon and their son Marco of Denver, Colo. Her son Jonathan predeceased her in 2007. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Regina Walsweer, and grandsons William and Nicholas of Westfield, N.J. She will also be missed by a host of loving friends.

A funeral service took place in Denver, Colo.
