Robert George Parkhurst of Edgartown died Nov. 16 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital with his wife, daughters and granddaughters by his side. He was 67.

He was born in Boston to Charles and Bernice (Hirtle) Parkhurst. The family moved to Marshfield where he grew up and made lifelong friends. After graduating from Marshfield High School, Bob began his career and passion as a master carpenter.

In the early 1980s he moved to the Vineyard where he made his home. He enjoyed family, friends, gardening with his wife and being near the water.

He will be remembered for his complete love and devotion to his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife Kayla (Gault) Parkhurst of Edgartown; daughters Amy Bart of Pocasset and Caitlyn Parkhurst of Oak Bluffs; stepson Dylan Estrella of Edgartown, stepdaughter Marisa Estrella of Edgartown; a sister Denice Alexander; eight grandchildren and a niece and nephew.

He was predeceased by his parents, and stepson Neil Estrella.

A memorial service will be held at the Portuguese American club in Oak Bluffs on Dec. 14 from 1 to 2 p.m.
