Familiar faces greet us downtown in the grocery or the hardware store. "How was your winter?" is the refrain. Well, the winter was no problem, spring, on the other hand was long, cold, wet, and lasted until yesterday it seems. Parking spaces are fewer, Waiting in lines is longer, and that beach we had to ourselves has new visitors. But after an off-season it's a pleasure to greet our neighbors again. To see lights on in every house, and smell the charcoal burning and hear laughter again. Happy Memorial Day, let the season begin.
