The 33rd annual Martha’s Vineyard CROP Hunger Walk takes place Sunday, Oct. 15. Walkers will gather at 1:30 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Vineyard Haven.

The 32nd annual CROP Hunger Walk takes place Sunday, Oct. 16. A quarter of all funds raised on the Vineyard will benefit Island Food Pantry and the Vineyard Committee on Hunger.

Car horns, cheers and applause rang out across the parking lot at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Vineyard Haven Sunday afternoon, celebrating the conclusion of the 30th annual CROP walk.

This annual Martha's Vineyard CROP Walk will begin on Oct. 1 and run though Oct. 18. The distance can be whatever anyone wants it to be, the miles adding up over the three-week period.

This year’s Crop Walk is Sunday, October 20 beginning at 2 p.m.

This year’s CROP Walk on Sunday Oct. 14 will be held in memory of Rev. Alden Besse, founder and leader of the Martha’s Vineyard chapter of the national walk.

The Rev. Alden Besse, pastor, sailor, president of the Martha’s Vineyard Peace Council and spiritual leader of the Vineyard Crop Walk, died on Dec. 13.

The 27th annual Martha’s Vineyard CROP Walk begins at 2 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Vineyard Haven, with registration starting at 1:15 p.m.

More than 80 people took to the streets of Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs Sunday afternoon in solidarity with the hungry for the 24th annual CROP Hunger Walk. As of Monday, the effort had raised more than $14,500.
