A partnership led by a South Boston bar owner and condominium developer will pay $5.15 million for 51 acres in Oak Bluffs once planned as a luxury home development. Paul Adamson, a real estate developer who also owns Shenannigans, a South Boston pub, was the high bidder at a foreclosure auction June 26, held on the property off County Road formerly owned by Corey Kupersmith.

A partnership led by a South Boston businessman will pay $5.15 million for 51 acres in Oak Bluffs once planned as a luxury home development. Paul Adamson, a real estate developer, was high bidder at a foreclosure auction Friday.

An animation released this week by the Martha’s Vineyard Commission shows development over time since 1660. Revised commission calculations predict that the Island won’t reach buildout until the year 2089.

A foreclosure auction scheduled for developer Corey Kupersmith’s property in the Southern Woodlands in Oak Bluffs has been postponed. Originally set for Thursday morning, the auction is now scheduled for July 26 at 11 a.m. according to the Web site for JJ Manning Auctioneers.

Owners of the Vineyard Golf Club, a private golf course in Edgartown, are now proposing to build a cluster of luxury homes for club members on the property's southeastern corner.

It's a request that some Island officials think they shot down five years ago.

Minutes shy of 11 o'clock last night, the Martha's Vineyard Commission narrowly approved the Fairwinds affordable housing development slotted for 4.9 acres of sloping land west of Tisbury's center.

Final approval of the Chapter 40B project - with six members in favor, four against and one abstention - was in question for most of two hours of deliberation.
