Gay Head Gallery Show Benefits Island Causes

A group of artists are coming together at the Gay Head Gallery for a group show, Changing Coastlines: Changing Ponds to benefit the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group and the Martha’s Vineyard Water Alliance. The work captures the beauty of the coastline and reflects the impact that wind, storms, currents and a changing climate has on local resources.

Where Art and Conservation Thrive

Art and nature are more closely tied than ever at the Gay Head Gallery on State Road in Aquinnah. A current show features art across a variety of mediums with special goals — to relay the beauty of the natural world and contribute to conservation efforts. A dozen artists have work on exhibit for sale, and anywhere from 10 per cent to 100 per cent of the proceeds from sales will benefit the Vineyard Conservation Society and the Moshup Trail Project.

Gay Head Gallery Conserves Artistic, Environmental Legacy

After 10 years, the Gay Head Gallery is back. This time, it is a gallery with a mission.

Megan Ottens-Sargent, the owner of the gallery, which doubles as her home, has reopened her gallery to bring back sophisticated art to an up-Island audience, but also to engage the community in her other passions: conservation and democratic participation.
