Hunters Island-wide took to the woods Monday morning for the start of the annual two-week shotgun season.

Bow hunting began 30 minutes before dawn today, Oct. 4., signaling the start of deer hunting season on the Island.

A year after Vineyard hunters took a record number of deer, the numbers on Martha’s Vineyard fell in 2020 but still matched the third-highest total on record.
