The Massachusetts Department of Transportation sent a proposed design to add new curbs and crosswalks at the intersection of Lake and Seaview avenues, a bustling spot near the town police station, a bus stop and where vehicles start to line up for the Oak Bluffs Steamship Authority terminal. 

Sidewalk improvements in downtown Vineyard Haven are about to begin again after the holiday lull. The project began last fall and left some Main street property owners disgruntled at what they said was a lack of notice.

Main street shop owners say they had no advance notice of sidewalk demolition that’s now underway in front of their stores.

Tiah’s Cove Road in West Tisbury will be closed to through traffic beginning April 19, the town announced Monday, while the road culvert is replaced.

Construction began this week on a project to repair a longstanding drainage problem on County Road in Oak Bluffs. The road will be closed on Oct. 21, 22 and 23.
