What beautiful weather we have been having. I know there are many happy brides who have had beautiful weekend days for their outdoor weddings.
Now this is the weather I love. The sky is that perfect blue. The clouds are so white and fluffy and there is no humidity. Plus, you can sleep at night with a blanket on.
I think Mother Nature forgot to look at her calendar because she has her months confused, cool and breezy in August and nice sleeping nights. September we have hazy, hot and humid.
Some say it is over, others say we have to wait until the middle of September, but the Grand Illumination was last week as was the fair and the fireworks. Those events signal the end of summer.
The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the breeze is just enough and it is cool enough to stand outside for more than five minutes. It has been just lovely!
I know everything seems damp, but when you dig into the ground just a few inches down is nothing but powder. But the forecast is looking good for the rest of the week.
I don’t know what to say about the weather this week. It rains and it’s cold; the sun shines and it is warm. The nights are cool; the fog is here in the early morning.
I don’t know if you have attended Tuesday’s Music on the Lawn at the library sponsored by the Friends of the Edgartown Library, but July was a hit and upcoming August 12 will be The Grateful Dread, and Johnny Hoy plays on August 19.
We need the rain. I know we have had a lot, but if you dig in the ground, the soil is still like powder. So we need a slow, steady rain — at night would be ideal, then we would all be happy.
