On a sunny fall day, Islanders gathered in Oak Bluffs to pay tribute to veterans. There was a short parade that departed from Nancy's Restaurant in Oak Bluffs, with veterans, police officers and others joining in during the short walk to Ocean Park. Veterans from every American war since World War II, Island police officers, members of the sheriff's department and the coast guard, and selectmen all participated in the parade.
