Hitting the back roads and trails as leaves begin to flutter down. Tim Johnson

Sunday, October 22, 2023

As the seasons shift one to the other, we celebrate the brief bright palette of leaves about to fall, rejoice in the warmth left in the earth, and glory in the Vineyard in fall.

October is autumn through and through, and autumn is for walking. Alongshore, in the fields and forests, no month rewards the walker more handsomely, and although this may be somewhere truer than on the Vineyard, we don’t know where that place might be.

Again, thank you Mr. Johnson and the Gazette for these photographs...essays in pictures to island life. My Sunday morning coffee is always enhanced and spiritually uplifted by these glimpses of the island as a whole.
