The Vineyard’s public access community cable station MVTV will provide a video on-demand service for Island political meetings. Denys Wortman, president of the public access cable station, announced last Friday that the service is under way, though still in its early stages.

Plum TV Nominated

Plum TV of Martha’s Vineyard (channel 76), along with Plum’s Nantucket and Sun Valley stations, has been nominated for eight New England Emmy awards. Winners will be announced at Boston Marriott Copley Place on May 30.

How’s Your News

How’s Your News, a television show starring former campers from Vineyard Haven’s Camp Jabberwocky, premieres Sunday, Feb. 8 at 10:30 p.m. on the cable network MTV. The show features the talents of Bobby Bird, Larry Perry, Jeremy Vest and Sean Costello, all of who are long-time summer residents by way of the camp. For more information, visit howsyournews.com.

Tonight, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m., MVTV will air a half-hour video special about the winter session of the Adult and Community Education Program (ACE MV) titled Learn and Grow — ACE MV Adult Education. The program was created by BZ Riger.

Dan Aykroyd on UFOs

Plum Martha’s Vineyard will broadcast an interview with comedian and writer Dan Aykroyd about his research on aliens and UFO sightings. The program will be shown on Channel 76 at various times this week. It also is available on the Plum Web site, vineyard.plumtv.com.

Plum Lunch

Plum is readying a new summer show Creative Lunch hosted by ad-man Richard Kirshenbaum, founder of Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners. Mr. Kirshenbaum has helped develop such brands as Kenneth Cole, Snapple and Target and is regularly featured in the New York Times, Wired and as a commentator in US Weekly’s Fashion Police section.
