The Vineyard Gazette Media Group hosts and sponsors a variety of high-profile events each year on Martha’s Vineyard that cater to year-round Islanders, seasonal residents and visitors.
Martha’s Vineyard Magazine’s Best of the Vineyard Party signals the launch of the summer season with a celebration announcing the magazine’s signature readers’ choice awards in dozens of categories, from best burger to best romantic getaway. Held annually in June, the event features food, music and merriment.

It all began in 1846, in the heyday of the whaling era, when Edgar Marchant founded the Vineyard Gazette, pledging to create a newspaper that was “Neutral in Politics . . . devoted to General News, Literature, Morality, Agriculture and Amusement.”
