A group of Islanders will be participating in the March on Washington on April 24, which is being organized by the National Peace Coalition, calling for an end to the Vietnam war.

The marches are taking with them a petition which has been posted in the Island’s major towns for signatures, which will celebrate the congressional defeat of the supersonic transport; condemn U.S. activity in Laos; and call for the total withdrawal of American forces from Indochina immediately, if practicable, but not later than Dec. 31, 1971. Copies of this petition are also being sent to Rep. Hastings Keith and Senators Edward W. Brooke and Edward M. Kennedy.
