Circuit Arts will host singer-songwriter John Craigie at a show at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown on Thursday.
Mr. Craigie’s work often blends songwriting with storytelling and comedy. He has performed in the past with Jack Johnson, The Avett Brothers and Gregory Alan Isakov.
“At the beginning of the season we were reaching out to a bunch of people to see who might be interested,” said Jared Salvatore, the Circuit Arts music programmer. “I was also asking a lot of folks who they might like to see come to the Island, and John Craigie’s name came up from multiple people that I talked to.”
In February, Mr. Craigie released his 10th studio album, titled I Swam Here. He will be joined by country musician Laura Cantrell.
“I think that when you have a storyteller like that who also has a bit of charm to them, it can be pretty magnetic as a listener,” said Mr. Salvatore.
The show is part of an ongoing music series hosted by Circuit Arts aimed at fostering performances by nationally recognized and Island musicians.
Tickets are available at Circuitarts.org.
