We are getting teased with the taste of spring. After the snow and wind and cold, it feels like summer, with no jackets required. You could get out for a walk or clean up the yard filled with all those little branches Mother Nature left us after cleaning the trees. We don’t know what the rest of the month, or April, will bring us, but we will take this for now.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Benjamin Brown, who celebrated March 7,; Madilyn Millard, March 9; Max Guimaraes, March 10; Kennedy Garrison, March 11; and to Elias Graves who celebrates his day March 13.
Now that the snow is disappearing, you can see that the spring flowers are showing their greens. When I was checking around the yard, I noticed that the hostas were popping up. That means it is time to get the rabbit spray out because they love those new greens. They are like salad to them, but after they have their fill, you have funny-looking hostas or none at all.
Once again, I was walking around the school and there were the guys playing soccer. It was a great sight to see them enjoying being back on the field, even in the mud, with a few piles of snow still hanging around in some areas. They have been back playing every day and now that it is lighter later, they can play after work.
The Edgartown Library invites you to join them on Friday March 20, from 3 to 4 p.m. to help them celebrate their 10th anniversary. Please join them for cake and conversation to celebrate the people who made it possible, library building committee, the trustees, friends, volunteers, donors and staff and of course the many residents who made it all possible.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
