Have You Seen Venus?

The brightest planet in our evening sky, Venus now hovers over the west just after sunset. Visibility is limited. The planet is visible less than an hour after sunset and only a short time before setting. It is there glowing brightly.

Venus is also getting closer to the planet Saturn. Though you can't see it, Neptune is in the mix too. Venus is in the zodiacal constellation Aquarius. Saturn and Neptune are in the zodiacal constellation Pisces.

Say goodbye to Saturn and Neptune, as they will soon slip behind the sun's glare and later this spring appear in the morning sky. Venus will continue with us well into summer, being our easiest and most brilliant planet in our evening sky.

The bright easy planet tonight is Jupiter. The planet reaches high in our evening sky not too late. The planet is moving through the zodiacalk constellation Gemini, making it one of the highest planets you can see in our sky this year. We've been watching Jupiter all winter and enjoying its prominence in our night sky. Jupiter may not be as bright as Venus, but it certainly is the easiest to find.
