The first baby ever born on the Camp Ground was born on Wednesday, 6th instant; a son to Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Vincent.
 
A mite society was held at the Vineyard Grove House, Capt. Dias, proprietor, on Monday evening, for the purpose of raising funds to purchase books for the library of the new Sabbath School. About one hundred persons were present, and an evening of social enjoyment was passed. Forty dollars were realized as the net proceeds of the gathering.
 
The Sabbath School is one of the most flourishing and successful ones on the Vineyard.
 
The health of the pastor - Rev. William Livesey - is not good, but the veteran christian has not lost his zeal in the ministry, and is cheered and supported by the love and labors of his people. Several conversions have occurred since Mr. Livesey was stationed here.
 
Mr. Livesey is having a cottage built upon the Highlands.
 
The steam planing mill is running constantly to keep up with the demand for dressed lumber.
