Many of the employers who have been interested in the progress of the Open Door Club in Edgartown, which provides a pleasant place as a recreational center for their employees, were given a tea on Thursday by the members of the club. The affair was a great success.
The club house was attractively decorated with fresh flowers which were donated from one of the most beautiful gardens in Edgartown. Tea was served from 4 to 6. The guests were welcomed y the president, Mrs. Louise Harper. Mrs. Jennie Foster and Mrs. Celeste Wano were the pourers. Miss Edna Hunt and Mrs. Minnie Laney were the hostesses. Assisting with the serving were Wayne Pollard and James H. Smith.
During the tea hour the guests were entertained with music and songs by the Palm Beach Troubadours, who made a pleasant showing in their white coats and black trousers. After tea was over tables were laid and dinner was served for the Troubadours and club members. Club officials were pleased to have several guests from Seven Gates Farm, Chilmark, Chappaquiddick and Edgartown. The club gratefully acknowledges all donations received. Officers are: Louise Harper, president; Edna Hunt, secretary; Jennie Foster, treasurer; and Minnie Laney, hostess.
