Beach Road Weekend Music Festival

The largest on-Island music festival is coming to Vineyard Haven this year, back in full force after a limited return in 2021. From Friday, August 26 through Sunday August 28, Veterans Memorial Park will host more than thirty musical acts (as well as food and drink purveyors and other vendors) for the Beach Road Weekend Music Festival.

The Avett Brothers, Beck and Wilco will be headlining each of the days, along with performances from Khruangbin, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Lord Huron, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams and many more. Three-day passes have already sold out; however presale one-day passes and VIP Skydeck tickets are still available. More ticketing information can be found at beachroadweekend.com/tickets. A portion of proceeds will be contributed to local causes, including support for music programs at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

MV Concert Series

Throughout July and August, the MV Concert Series (brought to you by the same folks who organize Beach Road) will bring musicians and comedians to perform on-Island. This series focuses on cultivating more intimate experiences than Beach Road, and hosts solo artists and bands in individual performances.

Events will take place at The Loft nightclub, the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center, and the Old Whaling Church, and feature such acts as Preservation Jazz Band, Bearly Dead, Graham Nash, the Indigo Girls, and Ladysmith Black Mambaza.

Tickets and event information can be found at mvconcertseries.com.

Classical Music Series at the
Chappaquiddick Community Center

The community center on the island across from Edgartown harbor will host classical and contemporary classical ensembles this summer. Series performers encompass a range of genres in the classical music space, from a baroque The Art of the Trio with Chatham Baroque to a selection of stringed chamber music with the Verona Quartet. A full series schedule along with ticketing info can be found at chappycommunitycenter.org/classical-music-series. Performances are limited to an 80 person maximum capacity indoors, so advance ticket purchase is recommended. Performances are July 16, July 23, August 6 and August 24.
