We’re happy to report that the orange stray cat has been reunited with his owner. But no one has come forward to claim the big gray boy with the white patch on his chest from the Tower Ridge section of Oak Bluffs. If he’s yours, please come to the shelter and claim him. We’re calling him Grayson.

This week Gracie is our featured pet. Gracie came here with her sister Dusty, who has since been adopted. She’s 11, tabby and white and an absolute sweetie, but she’s very unhappy here at the shelter.

Also available for adoption is Teaser, a five-year old tuxedo female. And we have two, large, black female rabbits, Laverne and Shirley, that have been hand-raised and in need of forever homes.

We would like to remind everyone that tick and flea season is still here so please be diligent about checking your pets and yourself as well as keeping up with flea and tick treatments.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
