Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School will host the third annual Waylon Madison Sauer memorial 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Sunday, March 29, celebrating Waylon’s legacy through a day of spirited competition and community connection.
Teams of teens and adults from across the Island will compete in a three-game guarantee tournament starting at 10 a.m. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals at 11:30 a.m., followed by the championship game at 12:15 p.m. Games will be played 3-on-3 throughout the tournament, with the final possibly expanding to 5-on-5 if both teams choose.
Local businesses, families, and community members are invited to support the MVRHS Class of 2027 by sponsoring the tournament, helping raise funds for the Waylon Madison Sauer Scholarship Fund. A special recognition of sponsors, supporters and teams will take place at noon on game day, leading into the championship matchup, and the event will conclude with a closing celebration at 12:30 p.m.
Team registration is open now: students and staff pay $50 per team; community teams pay $100. Team sign ups close March 24th. Payment must be submitted to guarantee their spot.
Community members are encouraged to attend.
