The Federated Church of Martha’s Vineyard is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Peter Boak as its music minister. To mark the accomplishment, the church has commissioned an original choral anthem, For the Beauty, for the Glory, by Dr. Thomas LaVoy.
The church choir will premier the anthem on Sunday, Nov. 1 at the 10 a.m. worship service. Mr. Boak will accompany the piece on piano, along with Ms. Rebecca Laird on violin.
Dr. LaVoy will also be in attendance, and a reception will follow at the Reading Room.
