The Vanity, new catboat of Capt. Thomas Walker Pease, was launched from the yard of Manuel Swartz on Thursday morning with appropriate ceremonies.

Observers disagree on what fluid was used for the christening, some maintaining that it was red ink while others insist that it was mahogany dye. All experts agree, however, that the Vanity is the last word in auxiliary catboats and an altogether wonderful craft for her inches, and a credit to her designer and builder.
