The Flynn family has concluded the sale of more than 175 acres to The Job's Neck Trust for more than $6 million.
The property is near but not adjacent to the 800-plus acres that the Flynns recently transferred to the state to become part of the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest.
Because there is a dwelling on the property sold to Job's Neck Trust, the sale technically shatters the record price for the sale of a house that was set last week when Mike Nichols and Diane Sawyer bought Chip Chop for $5.3 million, although the acreage of the sale that was concluded through Flynn family trusts is much greater than the acreage of the Lake Tashmoo property.
The Flynn property just sold has extensive frontage on the Edgartown Great Pond and the Atlantic Ocean. The acquisition will be used as a family compound, and it is the buyer's intent to have a significant portion of it managed by The Nature Conservancy.
