100 million years from here
Two galaxies collide.

10 million light years from here
two solar systems unite.

8 light years from here
two stars fuse.

Here, two drops of melt water
hit the pond a foot apart,

send out concentric waves
that orbit the entry points,

collide or unite
reinforce or cancel.

The pond is so still
