The first snowstorm of the winter blanketed the Vineyard during the first weekend of the new year. Saturday brought lots of snow and later, some winds, with 13.5 inches of snow reported in Oak Bluffs. On Sunday, Islanders emerged to shovel out and survey the changed landscape. In Oak Bluffs Ocean Park was a sea of white and plows were busy at the crack of dawn.

More photos of the snowstorm.
