The humidity is going down; the windows can be open now for a while to change the air in the house. We have had some rain, all is good.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Yasmin Dias De Oliveira, who celebrated August 23, Keira Mancha, August 24, and to Joao Oliveira and Cauan Santiago Ferreira De Oliveira, who celebrated their day August 26.

It is the last week of August. In some ways it went by so fast, yet there were times it could not get over fast enough.  As I went to work on Monday morning, there was only one car coming down the road, no one was on the bike path and turning onto Main street was a breeze. I know it is not the end of summer, but big changes happen at the end of August. While the traffic has died down a little, I can’t say anything about the Stop and Shop, it is still crazy.

The monarch butterflies are flying all around the nursery, the mums, the asters, cabbage and ornamental peppers are in. I see more and more cars and trucks with fishing poles getting ready for the Derby, there are men on docks squiding, teachers are starting to get their classrooms ready for the opening of school, QVC is having its Christmas sale, I have not mentioned it is only five months to Christmas and, best of all, we are seeing friends we have not seen all summer.

I am looking forward to seeing the kids going back to school. Even though the street is busy with cars parking so people can walk into town, there are a lot of big trucks going back and forth due to the construction of the Boys and Girls Club and they are fixing up the old club, plus the rec area is under construction, and parents and children are enjoying the new play area, seeing the kids back in school makes it all complete.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
