The weather has been filled with fall temperatures. And now the breezes are up as we are preparing for a possible northeaster this weekend. That means that it is time to put the umbrellas away, take down the hanging plants and put the chairs and cushions in a safe place. Please be safe this weekend.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to those students who celebrated their day this week. The school list will be in my hands soon.
I was nice to have John Bruguiere and his wife Shelby here to visit. John worked as a teller at Dukes County Savings Bank back in the day when there were always six tellers on the line on Main street. John and Shelby live in Roseland, Va. and run Dickie Brothers apple orchard. They were able to come up and visit family and friends. John is also the nephew of Jane Norton.
I am happy to see how far the new fire station is moving along. I don’t go that way very often as I work the other way out of town, but the construction that has been going on is amazing.
Layers is the word of the week as we go through cool or even cold mornings and warmer afternoons. It is hard to start the change of clothes in the drawers and closets as we are not ready for sweaters. But the short sleeves are not making it, and I personally like sweaters and sweatshirts. It is also hard to decide what is appropriate in the morning as it is the time of year that it is warmer outside than in the house.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
