Is your poem in your pocket for April 30? The last day of National Poetry Month needs a poem in your pocket to be read to anyone you run into at the stores, on the streets, on the busses or in court. I shall reveal my poem next week.

Our Gregory Bennett is on a great visit to Thailand. He has explored caves there.

Our peripatetic cartoonist Paul Karasik will be on a book tour in England in early May. He wonders if you have any suggestions of what to do or see there.

If you are a devotee of the great guitarist Delanie Pickering, her off-Island show this Saturday at 7 p.m. has been rescheduled for the venue Cape Cod Beer.

I am sad to report that the excellent jeweler Chris at C.B. Stark is making a career change after 10 years. Chris will be working off-Island. I shall miss this wonderful person.

Are you concerned about the crazy weather on Island? Our MV Museum has a Zoom talk about our Island’s weather history and future weather expectations on Thursday, April 23 at 5 p.m. I still think the groundhog must be indicted.

Congratulations to Deputy Fire Chief of Tisbury Marques C. Rivers. He has received accreditation from the Mass Executive office Fire Services Commission.

In high season news, Giordano’s opens its doors at 4 p.m. on April 23. Got Pizza?

The MVFilm Society in conjunction with the Tisbury Library is offering a free interactive showing of the Princess Bride at 11 a.m. on Sunday. It was supposed to be Shrek, but licensing problems put a stop to that.

There will be a concert of Rose Coloured Glasses, the duo of Darby and Sam at the West Tisbury Library on Sunday April 26 at 2 p.m. The concert is free to the public. Darby and Sam explore country, rock, pop and jazz.

Happy birthday to anyone I missed this week. Many happy returns.
