The Steamer Eagle's Wing, Capt. Benj. C. Cromwell, now makes four trips per week to New Bedford, instead of three as heretofore. On Monday, she leaves Edgartown at a quarter to 7 o'clock, A.M., and returns the same day, leaving New Bedford at 2 P.M. She leaves again on Tuesday, at the same hour, and returns on Wednesday, leaving New Bedford at 11 o'clock, A.M. She again leaves for New Bedford, on Thursday, and returns on Friday, and finishes up her work for the week by going and returning on Saturday, at the same hours as on Monday. By this arrangement, we anticipate a great increase of travel during the summer months.

The Gazette, which has heretofore left for the main on Friday morning by the steamer, will now go by Saturday's boat, and, in consequence, will reach some of our subscribers one day later than usual.

From the July 1, 1859 edition of the Vineyard Gazette:

The steamer Eagle's Wing, which runs between this place and New Bedford, is the best boat ever on the route, and her commander, Capt. Cromwell, is one of the most able, efficient and obliging gentlemen to be found in a day's travel. The Eagle's Wing will coin money this season.

Our hotels are doing a paying business this season. The Eagle's Wing brings down a large number of travelers on every trip. There is no better place than the Vineyard, for a summer residence. It beats Newport by one half at least.
