Nicole Fullin has been named editor of Martha’s Vineyard Magazine, the 41-year-old award-winning magazine owned by the Vineyard Gazette Media Group. Her first issue, the Fall Home & Garden edition, is on newsstands now.
A lifelong Islander, Ms. Fullin joined the magazine as an intern in 2012. After graduating from college, she returned home and took a full-time role with the magazine. She quickly advanced from editorial assistant to assistant editor, associate editor and then managing editor. She also served as editor of several other publications, including Island Weddings, Real Estate Yearbook and the yearly tourist publication Island Guide.
Ms. Fullin’s deep roots on the Island have informed her work throughout her career, giving her a true understanding of the people, places and traditions that make the Vineyard distinctive.
“Nicole brings a keen editorial eye and a strong sense of purpose to the role. She has spent her career telling the stories that make Martha’s Vineyard Magazine distinctive, and I’m confident she will build on that tradition in the years ahead,” said publisher Monica Brady-Myerov.
Ms. Fullin lives in Edgartown with her husband, Lance, and their two children.
She succeeds Vanessa Czarnecki, who served as editor of the magazine since 2022. Ms. Czarnecki has been promoted to director of product strategy for the Vineyard Gazette Media Group, a newly created position supporting the strategic development and future growth of the Gazette’s portfolio of editorial and digital products.
“Vanessa has a deep understanding of our journalism and our audience and will help us think strategically about how to evolve to reach new audiences,” said Ms. Brady-Myerov.
Ms. Czarnecki lives in West Tisbury with her husband, Matthew Sharkovitz, and their daughter. She has been with the Gazette since 2011.
Graham Smith, the Gazette’s longtime webmaster and a West Tisbury resident, has been named director of digital, overseeing the organization’s digital audience growth and technology.
