In case you happened to miss the farmers’ market and are still craving fresh and local food, Whippoorwill Farm is offering a special sale on the alternating Saturdays opposite the farmers’ market dates. That means beginning this Saturday, Oct. 19, you can get a bagful of at least 12 pounds of fresh winter vegetables for $25. A variety that includes kale, winter squash, carrots, potatoes, peppers, cabbage and more will be available. Locally raised and pastured chickens will also be for sale. Just to let everyone know that since there is no winter farmers’ market on Saturday, November 9th, Whippoorwill Farm is offering the vegetable bag sale again that day, from 9 am to 5 pm at the farm stand on Old County Road. There will also be a special sale on locally raised chickens, available in the farm stand freezer for $4.50/lb.
