The adoption news of the week is that all seven kittens were scooped up and adopted in one day. Congratulations to all the babies and their new families.
Our pet of the week is Toosie, a four-year-old, male tuxedo cat with big green eyes. Toosie has been here a while and is beginning to feel sad and lonely so we’re hoping he finds his forever family sooner rather than later. However, he is indoor/outdoor, friendly, playful and affectionate. Since he can get over stimulated, we feel he would do best in a home without small children. And he also has a lovely purr. Toosie has been diagnosed with diabetes and will need an owner comfortable with giving his daily injections and managing his special diet. He is also a food lover and will steal some whenever he can. Come meet Toosie to experience how much fun he is and see if he could be the perfect cat for you.
We will be taking a hiatus from the nail clinic for a while. However, the Council on Aging in Oak Bluffs hosts a nail clinic twice a month by appointment only. Call 508-693-4509 and ask for Rose Cogliano.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours: 508-627-8662.
