When the former Massachusetts State Lobster Hatchery in Oak Bluffs was renamed the John T. Hughes Hatchery and Research Center this spring, it also got a change in purpose. The benefits of that shift are already being released in local coastal ponds.

Oak Bluffs Town Column: June 29

My Best Job Ever had to have been ring boy at The Flying Horses! There could not possibly be more prestigious and influential employment in the Great Watering Place of Cottage City, our beloved town of Oak Bluffs. How pleased were the parents, the well dressed kids, cotton candy, popcorn—stuff old age diet forbids.
