Mother Nature is toying with us again. We were in T-shirts and flip flops only to be back in sweatshirts and boots the next week. We have had sun, but the wind has kept us cool enough to keep the sweatshirts on. But the plus through this is that in August when it is so hot in the cities, we enjoy that nice wind or breeze to keep us cool.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Maya Nascimento and Icaro Nunes who celebrated April 20, Gabryelly Ribeiro, Edmund Cottle and Faria Coutinho who all celebrated their day April 22.
The Island is coming alive. The daffodils and forsythia are a bright yellow and remind you of sunshine. The trees are budding along with the hydrangeas. The trees and shrubs at the new school playground are being put in the ground for the finishing touch. People are looking for power washers to wash their houses and fences, the painters are busy, landscapers are cleaning up the gardens, the ospreys are flying overhead, there are some J 1 students starting to work at the Stop and Shop, the shows you follow on TV are coming to their season finales, the sky is turning that pretty blue and the birds are waking us up at 5 a.m. It is good to be spring.
It is school vacation and I am seeing families with their feet in the sand in Florida, some in New York enjoying the sights of the city and eating at a restaurant where they have never eaten before, some are visiting family and some just stayed home. Whatever you did on your vacation, I hope you enjoyed it and got in some relaxing time. Please share your adventures with us.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
