Indian summer has extended into November. There is beautiful sunshine and warm days, but when the sun goes down, we are reminded of what time of year it is. Even the plants are confused as I still have New Guinea impatiens blooming and Angelonia with new buds. Reality is about to hit though, as our Christmas trees, wreaths and poinsettias will be coming in the next two weeks.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Samantha De Freitas, Kelcean Peart, Davi Soares, Lavinia Abreu, Bernardo Amaral, Brooklyn Cancellare, Lorena Abreu, Nathaniel Frias and Hazel Tuper who all celebrated their day this past week.

Since the middle of August, I have been trying to drive to the beach for a few minutes before going to work. I don’t get out of the car, I just park and enjoy the surroundings. At first there were a few people on the beach trying to get a swim in before their day started or to simply get there before the crowds. There was one swimmer that swam the length of the beach in a peaceful way. Some were simply standing ankle deep just enjoying the surroundings, and another just diving in.

As the weeks went on, it was just a few beachcombers, and people walking on the bike path. Now that it is fall and even the ride up is a short adventure as some mornings the turkeys are in the middle of the road, you can see the birds swooping down and around the pond and the egrets are walking through the grass on the pond side.

Each day is different if you watch closely. Some mornings the water is choppy but also a pretty blue green. My favorite is when the water is like glass, reflecting the houses on the shoreline and a boat that is always on the pond at the bend of the road. There are the days that the Cape looks so close and you can see the houses, and the days that you can just see the land and no houses.

The trees are displaying their fall colors and I urge everyone to spend just 10 minutes on the way to work enjoying the view. It always helps make my day a little better.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
