First Friday is here again, the once a month extravaganza of arts, food and fun held in Vineyard Haven.

The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

A new exhibit at the museum includes art by Donald Widdiss, his mother Gladys, and his sons Heath and Jason. Donald and Jason are both wampum artists, whereas Gladys and Heath’s medium is clay.

The Martha’s Vineyard Boys and Girls Club has named Barbara-jean Chauvin as its interim executive director.

The Trustees of Reservations and the Edgartown zoning board told the state they wanted to pause their ongoing lawsuit after working out a course of action for the Trustees to file an application with the town. 

A Cape Cod judge is considering the Dukes County sheriff’s request this week to toss out a lawsuit filed against him by the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office.

Vanessa Hitomi Kataoka and Lucas Simoes, of West Tisbury, announce the birth of a daughter, Athena Hikari Kataoka Simoes, born on Sept. 2 at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital.
