We have an adoption to report. The Gerbils, Bert and Ernie, have found a new home. Congratulations.

This week’s pet of the week is Nellie, a beautiful 13-year-old, medium hair, torbi cat. Nellie will need a special angel to adopt her as she is shy and fearful. She is beginning to come around but will require a very patient owner who can coax her out of her shell. Her adoption fee will be waived due to her age.

The next nail clinic will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. until noon. Dogs must be leashed and cats, rabbits and Guinea pigs must be in carriers. Walk-ins only, $20.00 fee.

Have a new puppy? Jeremy Jones will be conducting puppy kindergarten classes at the shelter beginning on Sunday, Sept. 15 and running for six weeks. Please contact the shelter to register your puppy.

When a dog is adopted, the new owner receives one free training session courtesy of Jeremy Jones. We also provide puppy kindergarten classes and AKC Good Citizen training.

Looking for a gift for the person/people who have everything? Please consider making a donation in their name(s). It’s the perfect gift for any occasion.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit.
