Last week’s weather made me eat my words.

Hailey Rogers and Nathan Francis, of Vineyard Haven, announce the birth of a daughter, Kingsley Marie Francis, born on Dec. 18 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.

Dyan and John Gadd, of Chilmark, announce the birth of a daughter, Iris Ellen Gadd, born on May 4 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.

Paola Pereira de Sousa, of Oak Bluffs, announces the birth of a son, Christian Pereira de Sousa, born on Dec. 16 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.

Jamie and Brian Hathaway, of Edgartown, announce the birth of a daughter, Aurora James Hathaway, born on June 11 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.

So many people to thank already as I try to climb out of holiday gloom!

Some were incredibly happy that our snowstorm was a dud.

Practice generosity. That’s one thing you can easily do to boost your holiday spirit.

If you are looking for a bit of holiday cheer this week, I recommend a stroll through downtown Edgartown.

The snow did not last for the week as expected for presenting a white Christmas but it was nice for the children while it lasted.
