Towns Agree on Cost-Sharing for High School Building

The Island passed an important hurdle this week on its race to qualify for state funding to replace the aging Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

High School Classroom Briefly Evacuated

A classroom at the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School was briefly evacuated Friday morning after two teachers reported feeling dizzy, school and fire officials confirmed.

Sam Hart, coordinator of Pathways and Special Projects, said that school officials called the Oak Bluffs fire department "out of an abundance of caution." Tests conducted at the scene by fire personnel found no air contaminants, he said, and the classroom was cleared for students to return.
