High school spending will again be the focus of three special town meetings next week, and while the school year is winding down, scrutiny of school finances is showing no sign of letup.

2018

Chilmark voters sped through the majority of articles at a special town meeting Monday night, but money for Menemsha improvements and harbor master training saw debate.

Chilmark voters gather for a special town meeting tonight beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center. A quorum of 25 voters is needed.

2014

Chilmark residents approved spending up to $2.5 million for the restructuring of the Martha’s Vineyard Refuse District at a quick special town meeting Monday evening.

2012

The fate of the historic Tea Lane Farm will come before Chilmark voters for a fourth time at a special town meeting on Monday. Voters are being asked to decide whether the town should enter into a long-term lease with a tenant farmer.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilmark Community Center. Moderator Everett Poole will preside over the special session.

2011

The future of the historic Tea Lane farmhouse will be in the hands of Chilmark voters at a special town meeting Monday night as they decide whether or not to back a $550,000 project to restore the farmhouse and prepare the land for a tenant farmer.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilmark Community Center. Longtime moderator Everett Poole will preside over the 11-article warrant.

This will be the second attempt to appropriate funds for the hilltop house which sits at the intersection of Tea Lane and Middle Road.
