I am writing to thank the West Tisbury voters for passing, with a bit more than the required two thirds majority, the warrant article that designates the town-owned parcel of land at 401 State Road for affordable housing.

Leaders of faith communities on Martha’s Vineyard are in the forefront of affordable housing concerns on the Island.

The following letter was sent to the Joint Committee on Housing for the state legislature.

On March 19 the NAACP Martha’s Vineyard branch voted to support the housing bank proposal.

Out of profound respect for the health of staff and friends/customers, Sundog remained closed during most of our 50th anniversary year of 2020.

I speak here as the parent of a son with Down Syndrome who has been invited to camp, consecutively, for 43 years.

My connection with the Poole family goes back 50 years, to when they lived around the corner in Edgartown.
